Excellence in Family Day care Awards
Baulkham Hills Family Day Care Educator Afroza Yasmin has been named the Regional Winner of the 2022 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards.
This is the third time the mother-of-two has won the award- she was also regional winner in 2014 and 2015.
Nominated by her parents, Afroza said they are incredibly proud of her achievements.
“A big thanks to my parents for nominating me – they are very happy and proud,” she said. “I’m feeling pretty proud of myself as well.”
A childcare educator for 20 years, Afroza completed a Diploma in Childcare after arriving in Australia from Bangladesh in 2000.
“I love to look after children – it is my passion,” she said. “I look after the interests of the children and put them at the centre of the care.”
Afroza, who has a waiting list for her family day care service in Castle Hill, said creating a strong bond with the child and their family and looking after their wellbeing was an important part of her role.
Catholic Care’s Senior Manager Child Education Services Jessie Counted said we are proud to recognise Afroza’s dedication, passion and commitment to continuous improvement.
“It’s really not surprising that Afroza won,” Jessie said. “We’ve received great feedback from her families – they all absolutely love her.”
