Catholic Care Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains is currently looking for a qualified fulltime/part-time financial counsellor (3 – 5 days/week) to work across several of our locations within Western Sydney which include Parramatta, Blacktown and Emerton.
As a financial counsellor within our multidisciplinary counselling team, you will use your financial counselling experience to support individuals, couples and families and truly make a difference in their lives.
This position is initially a fixed term contract until 30 June 2025, however, there is opportunity for extension if the funding for our counselling programmes is to be continued.
Your opportunity
In this role, you’ll bring your passion for working closely with vulnerable clients to support them by providing best practice counselling services. You will do this by:
- Providing face to face, phone and online counselling to clients seeking financial counselling support.
- Facilitating educational workshops as required.
- Maintaining an agreed caseload and up to date client files
- Providing advocacy, support and wrap around support referrals for clients
- Attending interagency meetings and other external meetings as required.
- Maintaining timely data entry on both internal and external reporting systems
- Undertake and adhere to specifications for training, supervision and professional registration
What you’ll bring
- Diploma of financial counselling.
- Current membership of Financial Counsellors Association of NSW.
- A minimum of 12 months experience working as a financial counsellor.
- Understanding of the needs of First Nation communities and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.
- Ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- IT proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence – P1 or above, and access to own insured vehicle for work purposes
